Hi, I noticed a couple of weeks ago I have this fleshy somewhat squishy lump on the right side of the floor on my mouth. I can t tell if my salivary gland is swollen or if it is maybe a ranula or mucolcele. I scheduled an appointment with an ENT that is not until a few more weeks. It does not hurt and I really do not notice it unless I try to to touch it with my toungue. It is the same color as the inside of my mouth.
A squishy lump under the tongue that is not painful and appears to be of the colour same as that of the mucosa is appearing to be a Mucous Cyst or Mucocele.. A mucocele is a false cyst that occurs due to plugging of the minor salivary gland with mucous.. When it is deep it is of same colour like that of the mucosa but if it is superficial it has a bluish hue.. It is painless as well as harmless.. You can consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation is commonly enough to diagnose it.. In case of Mucocele you should initially do concentrated salt water rinses and many a times it is enough to to let the lump regress. In case if it does not regress in a month then it can be surgically excised..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
